MBS started as a brand to help women remember who God made them to be. It's become something deeper than that.
I became a mom at 15. I've walked through alcoholism, identity loss, and years of wearing whatever cape a room needed me to wear. Somewhere in the middle of surviving, I surrendered it all to Christ. Not to become someone new. To uncover who I was before the world told me who to be.
But here's what I didn't expect. Even after I knew my identity, even after I was walking in my God-given calling, I still struggled. The flesh didn't stop showing up. The noise of the world didn't go quiet. The enemy didn't stop lying just because I finally knew the truth.
One minute I'm hearing God tell me I'm strong, capable, and loved. The next I'm questioning everything. I can't do this. You don't deserve this. You'll never accomplish that. No one cares about you.
I've learned willpower isn't enough. You can have more discipline, stronger boundaries, a tighter grip, and effort still has a max. Real change doesn't start with what we do. It starts with what we believe. Push yourself harder while you're still letting the negativity in, and willpower eventually breaks. You end up right back where you started, anxious, depressed, burned out.
God speaks in whispers. The enemy shouts. That's why this has to go deeper than mindset.
Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds, and neuroscience backs it up. What we repeat builds new pathways in the brain. Scripture also tells us to test and approve what's true. Not bury the negative thought. Not dismiss it. Discern it. When I hear "you can't do that," I don't ignore it, I replace it. "I am strong." This isn't positive thinking. It's truthful thinking.
And truthful thinking takes repetition. Joshua 1:8 tells us to keep the Word with us and repeat it day and night. What we repeat, we reinforce. What we reinforce, we believe. What we believe, we live. That's how the lies lose their grip.
That's what these pieces are for. Not idols. Sacred reminders, worn on your body, so the truth stays closer than the noise. Because we live in a fast, loud world, and without something grounding you, a victorious moment gets drowned out by a lie in seconds, and a fearful one spirals even faster.
This was never just activewear. We're changing what you cover yourself in, what you believe, and how you live. Until every woman can say with confidence, I am my best self, the woman beyond the cape.
